Venice and Murano Day Three- Sunday March 21st 2010

Just guess how my day started. Woke up. Checked out. Ate Hotel breakfast. Blah blah blah. But we did have the whole day free to ourselves!! We decided to go to Murano… which is the glass capital of the world and just a boat ride away. We walked through the city for probably the last time and went to the dock where we took a boat to Murano. We got off and immediately found a glass factory- if you want to call it- where we found a man making glass ornaments and such. He was very good at it. Such a great way to start off the day! We walked through Murano, and im not even joking, it was the most glass ive ever seen in one spot in my entire life. Store after store after store contained glass ornaments, glass jewelry, glass vases, lamps, containers, decorations, and supplies… pretty much everything you can possibly imagine… was made out of glass and can be found in Murano. An island dedicated to glass. That’s Murano. Its crazy cool. I bought something for my sister. We left the island around 2:30 to meet up in front of the hotel at 3:30 to go back to Florence. And let me tell you… on the bus ride back, I probably slept 80 percent of the time. I was out until about 8:00 when we arrived in Florence and I passed out a couple hours after I got back and ate McDonalds for dinner.
